So Macho!

I failed to book all my available leave in the financial year 2006/07 but have been lucky enough to be allowed to carry over a weeks worth of time to use asap... So, without much ado, I'm off for the coming week and looking forward to seeing family. Alas, D is stuck working so I'll be visiting alone.

So, what's essential for any great trip (it's about 120 miles to York from here!)? A good ol' car service that's what!

Now, I'm no mechanical expert when it comes to cars! Those who've seen my beloved Polo know that I'm more about the interior design (Muppet Skin cushions, An Ikea Dragon, A Dalek...) rather than what's under the bonnet (It's an engine innit?)! However, it's been pointed out to me by D and a good friend, Pat, that it's improtant that I check stuff before making any long journeys... And with the cars MOT & Service around the corner, I figured I'd heed the advice for a change!

So, what's this big butch bloke been up to? Well, I (proudly) topped up the windscreen washer, checked the oil (fine), topped up the radiator coolant (water!), checked the lights (even replaced a bulb!) and checked the tyre pressures, re-inflating as necessary! How macho am I? I'm impressed that I even knew where to find the bonnet-opening-thingy... (it's on the drivers side, near the door, under the sterring wheel!)

SO, I'm all set! A quick jaunt into town tomorrow to do some essential shopping (it was payday last Thursday) and then to York on Tuesday! Nice timing as it's our nephew's birthday!

In other news... Interview? Just don't ask... No, I mean it... Don't!

Have just downloaded Jacque Villeneuves album... It would seem that it's not being released in this country anytime soon other than via itunes! Amazon have it as an import only and it's not even listed on CD WOW or Play.Com! Now I've just gotta figure out how to burn it to CD! My brother doesn't beleive that Jacques has actually made an album (or would sound anything like good!) so I' need physical proof!! besides, I wanna support the best looking ex-F1-World-Champion! If his music career flops it's unlikely I'll see much of him elsewhere anymore after all!

Played badminton for the first time in months this morning... Am sure my body is going to seriously protest later... It's already miffed with me every time I walk up / down stairs! Have also mowed the front lawn (what's left of it after using it as a car park for months!) so am expecting Fimuscle and a six-pack by weeks end...? I did however put on a pound this week but I lost four the week previous so it's averaging out ok at the moment! Just need to focus again this week...

Finally for now... Just wanted to send a big hug to D who's been amazing over the past few days and doesn't get half as much recognition of how amazing he is as he deserves! Thank you, I Love you! Jxx
