Help The Aged!
I'm in York, updating the parents computer! They're still running Internet Explorer (have just downloaded Firefox) and haven't disc-cleanup'ed for ages! Might be able to clear about 3,000,000mb by doing so! Messy bleeders!
Am also trying to convince them to improve their firewall, though at least they've got one, and have already critiscised the virus checker but again, they've got one which is a start!
I must say, I'm personally an advocate of AVG Antivirus (& Spyware)and ZoneAlarm firewall but that's because we've had next to no invasions or bugs with these running and they're free!!
Had a good day yesterday, seeing Grandparents, Aunties, Brothers, Nephews, Neices and the associated partners and other offspring! Younger brother and his (far nicer than he is) partner are expecting a baby any day now and she's certainly looking ready! Bump is huge and babys head has apparently been engaged for some time... Shame they didn't drop whilst I'm here...
Elder brothers son (our nephew) was 4 yesterday! He's growing up fast and is a great kid... His sister (8yr old) is also wonderful! Such good kids (certainly don't take after their father!) Not sure about the taste in nightwear! He'd asked to sleep in a nightie, being progressive parents they let him... He picked a pink one with a fairy on the front! Hmmm... I'm getting the blame for duff genes already but I in turn blame our mother!
Anyway, Disney's Cars was the main birthday theme with several associated presents! Having not seen the film, I now know there's a red car called Lightening McQueen and several other cars, a towtruck and a lorry! Can't remember all the other names... Might've been a Laslow?? Never been a big fan of Disney yet brother, sis-in-law and kids seem to take bi-annual trips to EuroDisney themselves! Considering our sedate holiday requirements such as our Welsh retreat recently, I'm not sure I could cope with Donald Duck trying to hug me or Minnie Mouse shrieking at me! It'd be like a McDoanlds kids party from hell in my mind!
Anyway, I've taken loads of pics and I may or may not add a few to the blog later... Not currently on a computer with a SD Card reader so will have to wait till I get home to see the images! It was a great birthday party though!
In other news, have also shown mum how to use iTunes and have nicked a copy of Snow Patrols Album which has rave reviews but I've not yet listened to it all... If I really like it, I'll buy a copy I suppose... Or I'll forget! I rarely copy whole albums as I like to think that the artists get something from me if I really like their music... I did have a file sharing programme previously though and did 'share' a lot of music back then... I don't anymore!
Drive back to Leicester from York should take about 2-2.5hrs. Motorway was clear most of the way here bar a blip the other side of Sheffield where they seem to be re-surfacing the middle of the carriageway, both sides! Will be happy if I get as clear a run heading home... Still a bit early to set off now though (08.30hrs). need to wait till rush hour's finished! usually make one service station stop on the journey... Wooley Edge is always a popular place!
Enough rambling for now... Will check in gain soon no doubt!
Don't forget, UK'ers... Voting tomorrow! What a poor choice we have huh? Jxx

Pink Fairy nighty? Surely you were separated at birth! ;) Glad to hear you've had a great time.
I agree on the poor choice. As I am voting for my employers (after all I am paid by the council) it is important to make the right choice. Met one candidate who impressed me greatly - a nurse and member of the same union as me - so I'll vote for her, but don't know what to do with my other vote as no other party has bothered to bombard me with literature.

I've seen no literature through the door, no councillors campaigning and not spoken to anyone involved in canvassing this time around! I'm actually appauled by the lack of attention we've been shown by the local candidates! I will still vote, as always but I may also make comment to several parties about how disapointed I am!
