Happy Feet!

A very talented colleague of mine has repaired my pink trainers! Yay! In typical wasteful, throwaway society nature, I'd bought them (cheap in the sale at least!) tried them on, they ripped and I dumped them in the back of the cupboard, rather than taking them back. however, this time, the wastefulness was praying on my mind... I'd tried wearing them with the tear but they were too loose and I'd though about trying to sew them together myself (hahahahaha!) but eventually, it struck me that dearest Lynne, Nursing Auxilliary and Seamstress extraordinaire would surely be able to fix them up... And lo and behold! I'm Pink-Footwear clad once more! Two Big Thumbs Up to Lynne!! (And another point for recycling?)

In other news, making more soup today... This time it's creamy spinach, to compliment a cheesy mushroom and leek pasta tonight. Stll on the health kick and still doing reasonably well. I sneakily weighed in this morning and am currently matching my last official weight... Despite a naughty Thursday and not so good Friday! If I stick to the diet, this can surely mean a further loss by next weigh in? Soups do help, what with their filling and wholesome nature (Do I get that job at Baxters yet?) and I really enjoyed the Curried Sweet Potato & Lentil, Potato & Parsnip and Brocolli & Stilton that preceded todays effort... Had a taste of tonights treat and it's certainly on a par with the others! Also making bread to dip in it... Am Domestic Godess today!

Not sure if D will get Friday off work for us to head off to Wales... Might have to wait till the Saturday morning *grump*. Still, it'll be a wonderful getaway adn the weather doesn't seem too bad... Was worried it would be wet and miserable. Was kinda hoping for snow though!!

Two more 12 hour shifts before the holiday begins however. Wednesday & Thursday will be spent in the misery-filled atmosphere of my working mind but surely with the week after to look forward to, which includes my 28th(+vat!!) birthday, I can perhaps switch focus from the doom and gloom to the possibilities ahead?
