Ego Boost, Ego Blow!
Rather remarkably, someone flirted with me briefly today! I was standing in the bank, waiting for the customer service folk to appear when a bloke looked over at me, winked and kinda blew me a kiss before walking out! I was rather stunned at first then began to ponder... There could be several reasons for this occurance:
- He knew me and was having a laugh? (Didn't recognise him, but only caught a brief look!)
- My weight loss recently has made me incredibly attractive? (Unlikely - I've lost 8.5lbs but still aiming for two stone more!)
- He thought I was the best looking in the bank? (Also unlikely, two of the tellers were rather dishy... I was served by a ditzy woman of course! Doh!)
- He mistook me for someone else? (Now we're getting warmer!)
- He was taking the piss...? (Most likely!)
However... In the land of reality, where random folk don't wander around making others feel good, I also spent time shopping... I was attracted to various t-shirts, jumpers, jeans and underwear but found myself in one shop, staring at myself in the mirror in cargo pants that would've perhaps suited a teen but simply made me feel ancient! When did I grow out of youthful clothing? With another birthday on the horizon, this did little to make me feel good about myself and certainly brought that ego back to earth with a thud!
I did of course persevere and lo and behold, a host of heavenly boxer shorts, socks, a funky t-shirt, a stripy jumper and some new jean-type things all made it into my shopping basket and I'm actually pleased with the look... Disaster averted, kinda!
In other news, just saw the RAF bomb squad whizz past the house, sirens blaring, lights flashing... Not a good thing to inspire comfort and confidence in your living arrangements but they didn't seem to stop anywhere close by so i think I'm safe for the time being!
Fathers birthday on Monday... Same as my own and I've got gift and card waiting to pop in the post... God I'm organised for a change! Normally have a panic the day before, remembering that it's my birthday which means also my dads! You'd think it'd be easy to recal, sharing the day and all...?
Wales looms... Should be there by lunchtime tomorrow, weather, sense of direction (aka Sat Nav) and acts of god permitting. Cats're as yet unaware of their impending 'holiday' but we usually leave it till the last minute to scoop them up into travel cases. They associate their baskets only with cattery or worse, vet!
Need to consider packing this evening though i imagine, after the terrible working weeks we've both endured, we'll just end up drinking wine and watching telly to wind down (Jericho & Ugly Betty night!) Still, have arranged a day to visit Cardiff, and a scary Weirdo Fag-Hag Aussie who seems to stalk my online visitations, even if we haven't planned or organised anything else about the trip! Kinda nice to think it'll be stress free, without the ties to an itinerary!
What's Welsh for Torchwood? Jxx

Using the BBC languages site:
torch - tortsch
wood (forest) - coed
wood (material) - pren
Therefore - Torchwood is either Tortschcoed or Tortschpren.
Is there no end to my talents? lol
