Back... and back?
OK, my apologies for being so quiet of late. I've had it rather rough in real life and haven't really had the energy nor the attitude to put it all down in writting. Some of the problem is just how much I can and can't talk about. Working for the Health Service and being in a middle management position does have some draw backs in that you have to remain politically correct with what you say and do. I may have wanted to scream, shout, rant and curse but I've had to remain professional, coureous and motivational (where possible) to the team I was managing. However, that is now passed. As of last Friday, I am no longer a Ward Sister and return to my previous post of some eighteen months ago, although we need to find a new focus as life on the Acute Neurology ward has changed beyond recognition from when I left.
The reasoning and politics behind this move are the crux of what i should really avoid talking about but in brief, the hospital has to provide an extra £15m of savings before April on top of the £22m savings we were already working towards. Part of this removes the possibility of extending temporary contracts like mine. I can at least be thankfull that I still have a job to return to this week, even if it's not the job I loved.
So, without further ado and with this little explanation, I shall try to get back on track and add some interesting, informative or whatever type posts to this 'ere blog. Please do post a comment, just to let me know you're still reading...!? Jxx
