The waiting is over...

...And here's the first picture of the new carpet, in the newly decorated room! See those shelves in the corner? I put them up (with a little help from D!) The fishtank is cleaned out and settling before adding the fish back in - they're currently in a mop bucket by the kitchen sink!!

It's been a busy ol' week what with one thing and another but it's going to be such a nice feeling to sit down in the living room tonight knowing it's all done! Only two rooms to go (dining & spare bedroom!) They'll have to wait till we re-build funds! This decorating m'larkey ain't cheap - especially whenyou pay others to do it! Erm...

Also, finally got round to installing the new bigger compost bin in the back yard. It's a monster of a bin but it'll mean we can let the first one rest for a year and really make great compost! Suprising really how much waste matter we produce... Enough to keep two compost bins and a large wormery going!? And there're only two humans in the house... The cat waste unfortunately isn't compostable!

Speaking of cats, darn things won't eat properly at the moment. They're both being picky for differnt reasons. Eric doesn't like change and the decorating / new carpet has him a little freaked out... He's wandering around the place at half his usual height, jumping at the slightess sound! At least his bladder hasn't played up this time *touch wood* which is his usual reaction to stress! Pern is simply protesting at the change in cat food. We made the mistake of buying a £5 bag of low fat cat food rather than her usual £12 bag... She's too posh for cheap food! Darn creatures!

Should be seeing my bud Sy on Thursday... He's coming to Leicester this time and I've not managed to plan a meal yet... he went to the effort of cooking, even changing the recipe to accomodate my dietry habits, the least I could do is prepare a salad? Shall have to make sure I don't get caught up at work tomorrow. I'm not supposed to be at work but agreed to do a radio interview for a sponsored broadcast, then scheduled a couple of appraisals whilst I was there, set up a staff meeting and am also now attending the Sisters meeting... Funny how a day off can manifest itself!?

Gotta go now, still yet to clean bathroom & empty litter tray today. The hosuework never ends... Especially when carpet fitters leave such a mess! grrr! Jxx
