Night Nurse!

It's well researched and documented now that shift workers, particularly those who work night duty, are at increased risk of health deterioration. It's true!

So, why am I working the night shift tonight? Doh!

You'd think that being in charge of the ward, i should be able to escape the jaws of unsocial hours but in the interests of seeming to be 'in with the troops' I figured it wouldn't hurt to schedule teh odd night duty here and weekend there... Stupid!

I haven't worked a night shift in about two years and I have no idea how I used to get sleep during the day before... I've been awake since about 07.00hrs and will be working until 07.45hrs tomorrow!

Erm...

Help!

Hubby does this regularly as he's a firefighter. Can't help you, sorry. It is a well known fact that it does mess with your metabolism and leads to premature death. Just make sure that YOUR hubby has the insurance paid up to date! lol

I hope I survive. I've been doing the night shift for almost 20 years.:faintsinaheapsmilie:

I can't help you with the sleep thing...first night is always a bitch. I try to get a nap the afternoon before and then collapse the next day.
