Down on the Farm...

We don’t normally watch soap operas… Honest! We tend to stick with BBC documentaries and American imported drama’s on channel 4 but knowing that there was a prominent Gay storyline going to be on Emmerdale (no longer ‘Farm’!?) we decided to tune in and see what it was all about… Not sure we should have bothered! The acting is less than great, the other storylines equally as bad and once again, the Gay characters fit nicely into the stereotype… One a drag queen (his parents are so proud!) and the other a closeted Bi-sexual who’s just been ‘accidentally’ outed to the whole village! Nothing short of the same ol’ clap trap been shown a hundred times before… When will we get Gay storylines that are perhaps a bit different? Heck, shouldn’t I be praying for storylines with gay men in them that aren’t actually about being Gay? Jxx
