It's about time we saw the elderly generation in a new light!?
I'm an Older Person's Champion at work, this means I watch out for the standards and provision for older people, considering that if we get it right for older people, we get it right for everyone. I hate the idea that people are sidelined or given a second rate service based on age and will try to consider this in all aspects of my nursing role... After all, the majority of those admitted to hospital (though not necessarily to my ward) are 'older people'. We need to make sure we're getting things spot on from point of access to health care.
besides, as an Older Person's Champion I get to wear a badge!! Jxx
