Welsh Wittering Pt 2

Day Five - Torchwood:

So, the inevitable Cardiff trip hit us on the Wednesday! I drove this time (D had done some mega-miles over the past few days!) and got us there intact, despite my growing excitement! First up - parking! Cardiff is a nightmare for traffic and finding somewhere to dump the car in the vicinity of the Millenium Centre was troublesome to say the least, hampered again by awful weather... But hey, this was Cardiff... This was Torchwood... I was not going to be put off by repeated soakings!

Finally finding a spot to leave the transport (and wishing we had a TARDIS!) we made our way to the Millenium Centre itself and marvelled at the architecture momentaily before bing acosted by some strange Rift Monster (sure to feature in the next series of TW!)

We decided to spend a pleasant brunch in the centre itself, with this weird creature, before the snapshots commenced in force... Torchwood - WOW!

Note - it says 'stones'... remove the 'st' and add 'J' and you'd get 'Jones' - That's Ianto's surname! <3

All shiny! And very tall...

I hardly noticed the rain... And the wind...

This was supposed to be a Captain Jack like pose but I just look like I'm holding my trousers up!

Ianto was 'ere! <3

Pretty cool huh? Well, I was mightily impressed with the whole affair! The whole place had me jumping about like an over-excited toddler and more than once the rift alien accompanying us pointed out my over-excitement! It's one thing to see it on tv... Another to hear about it from other 'woodies' but it's something else entirely to actually be there...

No comments on what Ianto and I got up to off camera... But remember, D was there!

Alas, the Dr Who Exhibition in the nearby entertainment complex was closed for renovation (*sob*) so we didn't get more than a peek into the shop - I bought a lunchbox with a dalek on that says 'exterminate' (what else) when you press it! Probably marketted to toddlers but as I mentioned, I was acting a little like one anyway...

Day Six - Relaxation:

We spent the last full day away simply reading, snoozing and watching DVDs... We'd manage to sit through about 12 epsiodes of CSI (Series 5) over the week and we watched right up to the Tarantino episodes whilst away (We decided to hang fire on the Tarantino eps until we could watch them on our big screen tv...) I finished my Garth Nix book (Drowned Wednesday) and read a trashy gay holiday novel (Male Model by Dave Benbow) and started a third book (Desert Sons by Mark Kendrick, which is actually quite good!) It was nice to wind down after the hectic week.

We also took some photos of the surrounding area which I'll p'raps blog later too...

Day Seven - The Return:

What can I say, other than my Groovy trainers (the pink ones) were spotted and favourably commented on by some strange Wlesh woman in Llandeilo just before we headed home...

A superb get away, despite the wintery weather. I'd certainly go back to Wales... And not just to Cardiff! Hehe! Jxx
