Bugging your brain like a stone in your shoe!Broken Hearts
Watched a rather moving programme about several people with serious heart conditions, one too well to be placed on the heart transplant list initially and one too ill. They also showed a chap, on the list for just 14 hours but so desperately in need he was prioritised above all others and received his heart.
The most shocking thing was that these were young people, 20’s & 30’s who were fit and healthy one minute and in need of a new heart the next! Kinda scary that it could happen to anyone at any time like that!
And as for the list itself, the figures they showed indicated that whilst there around 90 people waiting for a new heart at any one time, only 4-14 were performed each month. Somewhere along the line, some of those waiting just aren’t gonna get what they need.

Last day at work today before a weeks break. Will try and update but more often than not, I get less net time when we’re off as we’re out and about or busy around the house! We’ll see! Best I leave you with a bit of David Beckham, just to show continued support for the world cup ;-) Jxx

I am on the organ donor register and carry the card but they won't actually take my organs as a gay man! I'm kinda hoping they'll overlook the blatant homophobia and bigotry when it comes to offering life saving organs that I no longer need to others!? Jxx
I agree - what relevance does that have? My daughter (Abi on the KT) wants to know how they would know? You can't give blood either - which again is ridiculous. As a straight female I'm not subject to the same discrimination, just reasonable, sensible tests on my blood each time to check that it's healthy. Is anyone campaigning to change this situation?

The last I heard they were trying to 'explain' the rules rather than change them. I was involved ina bit of market research on the information they were going to provide to gay nightclubs and pubs to explain their position... It would've made things worse! They were going to have to re-write the lot! Not that they were even considering changing the rules...! Jxx
