Mood: That Friday Feeling?

~

It’s a mixed bag of emotion this morning. The joy that another long week is nearing it’s end is somewhat over shadowed by a slightly disturbing thought plaguing my mind…

I passed by a traffic accident this morning. Nothing too serious by the looks of it. Nothing to warrant my stopping and investigating as a good NHS employee should. Everyone was up and about, out of their cars and obviously not seriously injured. Later on my journey, I passed by (in fact swerved to avoid) a dead fox in the road, obviously hit by some vehicle overnight.

Which one tugged on my emotions more?

~

Yep, Human misery and suffering seems to be something I can easily deal with when encountered but the thought of an animal being injured, harmed or tortured in any way and I’m a gibbering wreck of emotion. Is that worrying for a nurse? I’m sure I’ll continue to ponder this and question my choice of profession for years to come! But for now, gotta get to work! Jxx

Listening to: Charmed Theme Song

(Can’t remember what it’s actually called but I like the bit: “So I go and I stand on my own, and I leave on my own, and I go home and I cry and I want to die…”

Just found the link in your siggy!
I too get a sick feeling when I see an animal dead or injured. Maybe because it wasn't a "natural" death and was caused by humans. When I watch the nature shows, I don't like it when an animal is killed, but it's not the same.
