Eco Warrior?
Mood: Holier-than-thou
Just back from a rather pleasant stroll to and from the Eco House, a unique envoirnmental dream home! We live fairly close by so I can't claim to have hiked any great distance though of course every little helps when you've got a few pounds to loose...
I'd manged to bore myself enough this morning to actually make it out of the front door and into the wide world that seems to exist outside of all this cyberspace that I'm used to and it did of course give me the opportunity to show off my new ipod-mini (which I've named Kevin), an early Xmas present from my beloved (should we use Xmas or Christmas? I always wonder if we're simply crossing out christ? It's bad enough the Christmas message being so lost nowadays without encouraging the biblical reference to be further diminished!)
Where was I?
Ah, yes... So, having trapsed off in one direction to find a cashpoint (aka atm) and discovered I have virtually no funds till payday, I headed back the other way to this magical structure of all things natural and eco-sound. It's basically a big house with a cafe & shop downstairs, large organic garden and playpark created from used tyres... But it's got a lot of good ideas and advice for that little bit of planet saving we all feel we ought to be doing. Oh, and someone lives there! Despite the fact that it's filled half of the day with gawping tourists!
Todays trip was with somewhat of a purpose as I'd manged to fit an empty, three litre (litre or liter?) plastic juice bottle which has become the new recepticle for Ecover fabric softner refils, into my groovy new bag (which looks a bit like this). Aren't we good! Not only are we saving plastic but we're using better products too! Hence the holier-than-thou attitude I've come home with. Of course, I'm wearing designer clothing probably mass produced in seatshops, have showered using soaps no doubt tested on poor innocent creatures and been drinking coffee without a fair trade label, meaning it could've been slave labour but at least I'm doing something? Jxx
